So when I reach the end of day three (Tuesday in-game) the TV reporter cutscene plays out, but once the TV switches off, the game gets stuck on that screen and won't progress. This may be a ScummVM specific problem, and someone on Reddit said temporarily lowering the "detail" level in the options menu before starting this cutscene would fix the issue. I could just load my most recent save and try to get back to that point, but I was curious if there's a way to "cheat" the game back to a state right before the cutscene.

Do PQ4 save files exist online for download? I did some Googling and found nothing, which may mean it's not even possible to load others' saves in this way, but it's worth a shot. Alternatively, is there a way to edit the game's "state" to a certain point?

No problem if neither are possible! Again, I can just grab a walkthrough and slog back to where I was. Just thought I'd check if I can cheat first. :)

As a sidenote, I'm experiencing a graphical glitch where some text from the shooting range and text from a conversation with Katherine got stuck on the screen and won't go away. I've read of another person having this glitch as well, but I can't seem to fix it. Any suggestions on that?

GOG's version of the game comes bundled with DosBox. Are you indeed using ScummVM to run the game? If so, have you tried a recent stable version (2.8.1 as of yet) or a daily development build (2.9.0git as of yet) for ScummVM? And if the issues do persist in a latest daily dev build, please submit a ticket on our bug tracker so that we can look into them properly. https://bugs.scummvm.org/

I don't have save files (nor am I aware of an online repository of such) for the game.

Apparently there is a debug mode for the original game which you can activate when playing via DosBox (info here: http://sciwiki.sierrahelp.com/index.php/SCI_Debug_Modes#Police_Quest_4_.28CD-ROM_version.29) but I don't see an easy and safe way to "cheat' ahead in the game.

Yeah, I'm using the latest stable release of ScummVM, not DOSBox. I'm actually not using the GOG version at all; I own a physical CD-ROM copy of the Police Quest Most Wanted Collection and I'm running a copy of the game files off my hard drive. I would try using a daily build of ScummVM, but the text glitch is "baked" into my save files, and honestly I don't want to restart from the beginning of the game. The debug mode looks like more trouble than it's worth, so I guess I'll just use a walkthrough to get back to where I was and hope the game doesn't lock up again. Thanks anyway!
