Hey, guys,

As you know, a lot of the old POD websites are in archived form, and unfortunately some of them are either not fully archived, or the Web Archive has got a snapshot from a really early stage of development of the site.

And... there are also websites that seen to be lost, like Raptor's PODtek page. :(

But it's actually possible to find some of them with some research, like Redline's sites.

So here are some forgotten links I found on the Web Archive. They weren't easy to find, and I encourage anyone who knows something more to post other links of POD sites here, in this thread.

Redline's old site (don't be deceived, the right menu bar doesn't load only the images, put your mouse over it and you will see that there are links):
web.archive.org/web/19981203141119/home.clara.net/redline/pod/

Redline's newer website (the links are hidden here as well):
web.archive.org/web/20020204160923/www.kineticdreams.net/underground/

The UbiSoft POD language-select-menu page: (unfortunately doesn't load the German version)
web.archive.org/web/20011105070105/www.ubisoft.fr/pod/

The German POD UbiSoft site:
web.archive.org/web/19990427214636/www.ubisoft.de/pod/pod.html

One version of the POD Ubisoft French website:
web.archive.org/web/20000511143052/www.ubisoft.fr/sites/pod/FRENCH/principa.html

Another version of the POD Ubisoft French website:
web.archive.org/web/20020404135336/sites.ubisoft.fr/pod/

An archived image of a track creation tutorial from Siklist's POD page:
web.archive.org/web/20050218095309/perso.wanadoo.fr/souik/pod/tutoriel_bl4/

Happy reading!

All the best,

I'm especially interested in the BL4 tutorial. It was about a 3DS Max 6 plugin. I can't find or get that version of 3DS Max working on any system.

I remember the images worked some years ago.

While I'd love to create new tracks which should be fairly easy with PODs level of detail, I'm also mostly interested in making any triangle solid so that you no longer fall through, and remove invisible walls... nico, can't the loader be patched to at least automatically add a "solid" property? :D

DebugErr: I remember the images worked some years ago.
Some years ago I made a backup of POD related public websites and FTP (around 4 GiB IIRC).
I'll have a look at it as soon as I get my hands on the old disk...
Moved, but still online:

Great stuff.
Now, if anyone can get a hands on such an old 3DS Max version and translate it into English, lol
Now look at the image in the attachment! :D:D
Got 3DS Max 4 running in Win2K in VMware with OpenGL backend, smooth and nice!
And he even put in the tutorials in English together with the plugin download!

Gotta try to export a BL4 and load it up in Pod... hah!

I stumbled upon one of the last standing POD sites. I am proud to say it really proved a POD Outpost:

http://www.3dgaming.com/games/racing/pod/

It has so much info in the news section! :)

And I think I found some screenshots of the PowerVR version of POD:

Thank you, The Wayback Machine and 3DGaming, for preserving these great pages! :)
I found one of the last POD forums online - the network54 POD RedZone forum. Although Redline wrote that the forum had got a new URL, this one is still standing:
