I am using Pod Gold from GOG.com on Windows 10.

I just rediscovered this game and downloaded it and it runs great (mostly). I also downloaded and installed all of the tracks and cars from POD PhReAk. The tracks work with no real problems. The cars have been installed, but when I click LOAD NEW CARS, I am immediately taken to a 1 car race on the selected track. Have I just installed more cars than the game can handle, or what? I installed them all at one time using the POD Data Patcher before testing any of them.

that sounds odd. are you sure that that it's not time attack/ghost mode selected? when click Load New Cars, it should let you select from a lineup of currently used cars and you can choose which to replace.

you can install any amount of cars afaik with the cdpatcher but may load up to a certain amount of cars at one time in the game.

Problem solved - sort of. I started deleting cars until I got the Load New Car button to work. It works now, but the game crashes and exits at the end of every race.

AFAIK, you have a limit to install cars (32 if im not mistaken). More than that the game may bug or crash.
