This worked fine with the latest (1.2.1) version we have here on GOG. Nexus has a dozen or so mods for the game:

http://www.nexusmods.com/planetbase/mods/1/?

And you need to start with getting that one working on your game. It worked flawlessly for me and here is what i did:

1. make a backup copy of 'Assembly-CSharp.dll' which is located in your \Planetbase\Planetbase_Data\Managed folder

This is just in case that file gets deleted (some users have reported that happening to them).

2. Run the Planetbase Mod Patcher-1-1-0.exe from the link above.

3. Point that file to the installed games 'Assembly-CSharp.dll' file.

Once that is complete, when you next run the GOG version you should notice the version number has changed in the bottom right of the games title screen. If it has worked it will show '1.2.1[p]' in place of the default '1.2.1'.

4. Next you need to create a 'Mods' folder in the place the game keeps your save games, which will be somewhere in the 'My Documents' path (this will vary depending on what version of Windows you run).

Under Windows 7 it is in the path C:\Users\'your user name'\My Documents\Planetbase

where 'your user name' is your current logged in profile name. When you are in the right location you will see 'Profile', 'Saves' and 'Settings' folders along with a log.txt file. Here we simply create a folder called 'Mods' and in this we will place our mod files.

Currently i'm using:

Redirector (essential - needed for many of the mods below to function)
Camera Overhaul (essential)
CharacterCam (for fun)
FreeBuilding (essential)
AutoRotateBuildings (helpful)

these are all small .dll files that you place in your mods folder and when you run the game their functionality will be apparent.

Hope this small guides helps a few folks. As a non Steam user you are blocked from using the Steam Workshop, which is where the game devs focused for modding of the game, so it is nice to find a few handy things for us GOG users :)
Thanks!!!
