Hi, after watching the video on the store page, I am curious about the gameplay. I was wondering if someone who purchased the game could answer a question.

As far as I understand, the game is about survival, with stats such as hunger, thirst, etc. However, there is also a base building element, and the video spends some time showcasing the different structures that can be created. How do these two parts work together? Is there a bigger purpose to building?

In other words: is there a purpose to building, other than the creative / sandbox aspect?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I've seen, at the moment, bases are purely a creative thing to do. This isn't to say that in the future they won't have a purpose such as sheltering from storms or keeping you cool/warm in different environments.

There are "Printers" that you need to build to produce items such food and parts.

Those can be built anywhere though, they don't require a base. I'm currently on an expedition to the south (and blocked by huge chasm stretching as far as I can see in both east and west), and have already rebuilt my car from the scratch once - make printer, print what I need, recycle printer, no base needed.

And you are done with them fairly quickly anyway - maybe an hour or two if it's your first game to get to medium printer and make MK2 tools/space suit, and that's it.

It is easier to place them on a "Floor" then on the ground. But I agree there is not much to do currently however it is still in early access. I bet that we would have to build walls to prevent creatures from damaging our equipment.

Also that Chasm, couldn't you just make a bridge?

In theory yes. If I drive veeery carefully I could get by with only one tile wide bridge. Still it would be awful lot of materials (and time) needed, way more than I have collected on my way. Maybe I used wrong word... not a chasm, more like a valley, I could barely see the other side. Vehicles look nice, but their utility is questionable, they tend to always land on roof or get stuck in slightest pit, or launch into the air off some bush. They can drive underwater, but with reduced visibility I almost always end on the bottom of some sea chasm.

It took me 17 hours to get 12km away from landing. Then I found the last material to upgrade everything to max (again in the field, no base needed) and made a return trip on foot - in 1:30.
Вопрос может и глуп,но вот очень бы хотелось бы узнать в новых патчах игры Русский язык возможен?
