I just got this game a few days ago. The scanner ran out of power. I assumed I could use a battery, but I can't figure out how. This is probably extremely basic... but I'm lost. Any help? I even fabricated another scanner and it has no power either.

After craftig a Battery (not a Weapon Battery or a Compact Battery Rack), put the Battery in your inventory, equip the Scanner and press 'R'.

The game provides help screens, which I found to be quite useful (once I discovered them ...): just press 'F1'.

Oh my gosh.... that was so easy. I had everything but "R". And the sad part is that I read the help screen several times and never saw that on the screen.
