You can try to start the installer.app first and then choose the package. Never tested myself, but I heard that sometimes that can help. The installer.app (in german Installationsprogramm) is not in the regular application folder, it's in another system folder you need to go to. Just open open the finder and press the shortcut: shift+command+g. You can alternatively also use the menu bar with "go to" and then "go to the folder" (in german it's Gehe Zu / Gehe zum Ordner). The folder you need to open is /System/Library/CoreServices/ , just copy and paste. Now you can navigate to the installer package and see if the installer passes the check.

If not, you maybe want to move the pkg-file to a new folder, like the desktop, and try it there again. Another option is to disable SIP, apples system integrity protection they implemented with El Capitan, but I highly not recommend that. If also a redownload not helped you should maybe better contact gogs support. Good luck ;-)

Thank you for the reply, redownloading did not work, but restarting the mac did. It seems the system was hung up on another installer process and so could not execute it with the torment file.

Thank you again for the help!
