Hey guys,

So I killed off the Evil Wizard, but I forgot to take the Portal Lens so that I could get out of Modron Maze. Now I spent 2 hours just killing Hard level constructs so that I could find another one. Is there a specific level that I have to set the maze to or some cheat so that I could get it because I thought that it would appear randomly, but I am getting the feeling that there was some kind of error because non of the constructs ever dropped one.

Thanks
I got one of my (multiple) portal lenses from constructs on Medium, and others from constructs on Hard, but I'm not sure if the rarity is tied to the maze's difficulty level. In fighting through the maze 3 times per runthrough (once on each difficulty) I always had 2-3 lenses by the end, so maybe you're just unlucky. :(

Really though, it's probably a better idea to just go back to the control room and reset the maze. You'll have to explore it again, but it will reset the boss room as well. Just kill the wizard boss again and get another portal lens.
Maybe my memory fails me as I haven't played this game for a while now, but isn't it possible to exit the maze if you go back to the start of it?

Also, there is an NPC in there if you keep looking long enough, who you may want to recruit.

The whole level is like a memory test. Dying and then trying to get back to where you were without having put down anything on paper was a bit tricky ;)
I know this post is a couple of years old, but I'm replying just in case anyone else has trouble with this in the future like I did.
The evil wizard construct in the maze should drop a portal lens after you kill it. I went and killed a couple of hard constructs to find another one because I'd put the lens in Grace's inventory and didn't realize it until I went to sell the lens later on (go figure).
Hope this helps!
There's a way to get out without killing the Evil Wizard Construct or grinding for portal lenses.

When you talk to the modron engineer in the control room after becoming the new project director and resetting the dungeon for the first time, you can ask him about Rubikon's capabilities, and the modron tells you about the portal lens. From then on, whenever you want to leave, you can backtrack to the control room and ask the modron engineer to teleport you to any Sigil location. (He'll also drop his portal lens if killed, IIRC, but you probably don't want to do this.)
