I just wanted to let others know that having the Razer Synapse drivers installed causes Planescape Tormet to crash at startup. Apparently the application includes audio drivers that the wine application just can't deal with. There are hacks available where you remove the audio drivers, but this seems like a short-term work-around until the Synapse software updates again.

After discovering this problem I've found that other native games have similar problems (found it affecting several Blizzard games), so I'm not sure what exactly is going on that the drivers need to install a buggy audio device.
