I'm spending more time installing the mods and wasting time doing so. It's been 2 hours and I still haven't started the game yet. Working through all the installation error messages and finding out why they are not working correctly, etc. is driving me nuts. I remember doing all the steps with Baulders Gate and it wasn't worth it to me. I just want to play the frggin game.

Is this game fully patched, etc. Is it really necessary to install the suggested mods, etc?

Thanks

Yes, the GOG version is fully patched, and needs no mods whatsoever -- install and play.

OK, thats all I needed to know. thank you very much!
Basically you can just install three mods from the GOG guide: widescreen mod, Ghostface's UI and Unfinished Business. They are not mandatory, none are, the game plays fine in vanilla state, but these three will improve your experience.

If you are adamant to play the game vanilla, I still think that you should install the Widescreen Mod if nothing else. Vanilla Torment is perfectly playable though; the mods make it slightly better in my opinion, but I loved it un-modded as well.

I've never had any problems with installing mods, but I guess I can't speak for everyone here.
