Hello to all. I am playing PS:Torment for the first time. I'm done with the Clerk's Ward. All quests are completed in my Journal, except finding Ravel. I have that portal from the Foundry, and a Handkerchief with blood, so I am all ready to begin the next chapter of the game.

But first, I used that Modron cube toy, and entered the Modron Maze. I did all 64 (8x8) rooms in the "hard" Maze, found Nordom, did all his dialogues (none of which did any upgrades), and then found the Evil Wizard Construct and his six bots, did all his dialogues (including how he disintegrated the previous Director), and then defeated him.

Now that I am out of the Modron Maze and back in Clerk's Ward fully recovered, I did all of Nordom's dialogues again, now that the Evil Wizard Construct has been defeated. Still no upgrade dialogues.

Obviously I did something wrong. I have a save-game back from when I first entered the Modron Foyer, but I'd rather not do all that again. I'm glad to have sold all the treasure obtained therein (I got like 15k copper commons now), but I found the Maze to be a bit of a grid, which I don't prefer.

Anybody know what I might have done wrong?

Anybody know how to reset this and get Nordom to upgrade, without doing the Maze all over again?

My Nameless One is a Mage, Level 11, Intelligence 18 (with the help of the Tattoo of the Art), Lawful Good.

I got Morte, Dak'kon, Annah, Grace, and now Nordom. (Ignus is chillin' in my old room in the Festhall.)

I am playing the GOG version of the game, without any mods.

I'd rather NOT re-do the Modron Maze again. Any help with this would be MUCH appreciated!

Hey-hey! I figured out what the problem was!

Recovering in my old private room in the Festhall, I took myself and Nordom away from the rest of the party, and then talked through Nordom's dialogue options. Morte and Grace were not close enough to interject during the Nordom dialogues, and behold! the upgrade dialogue options appeared.

Luckily I was clued in to this idea via a thread on the Gamebanshee.com forum.

What a bug that is! I'd think by the Clerk's Ward portion of the game, Morte and Grace would be part of most players' parties. Without prior knowledge, I would've went through the game without ever getting those great dialogue options (and their really great rewards).

(Those fixpacks by Qwinn, which I've heard mentioned so many times, probably nabs this bug, I'd reckon.)

Anyways, hope this thread helps somebody else in need. Nothin like playin a great game for the first time. Long Live PC Games!

Absolutely. And I marked your post as the "Solution", as I cannot mark my own posts as a Solution.

This game nicely compliments BG and IWD, and really completes a circle with the Bioware Infinity Engine line of games.
