I have the tome of bone and ash, but dont know how to use it on them. If you can help please be very specific since im not used to these types of games, and I dont know which commands are left-click or right -click.

This is an optional quest. You can skip it and come back later if you want. It will give you some xp and items but none of it is crucial to the plot.

Click on the skeletons to initiate dialogue. At some point you need either high enough stats to figure it out on your own or you can consult the tome to proceed.

If the skeletons are hostile let them kill you. They won't be hostile any more when you return.

That's got to be one of the oddest couple of sentences ever written...
