I am seriously annoyed now...

Deleted the game about 15 times tried any combination of installs...

Always end up with patches refusing to install....

I have the
.14
.15
.16
patches for Pillars/whitemarch/whitemarch part 2.

If I install .14 for Pillars then install the white march/part two .14 then .15 for pillars wont install.

If I install .14-.16 for Pillars then white march part one 14.16 will install, then part two .14 will give a wrong version error for one file in the log then .15 wont install at all saying its the wrong version.

I dont have the option of redownloadnig the game due to limited internet... it already took me TWO months to redownload last time due to my version not having any update patches anymore to bring it up to others.

-cant edit the title.... sorry, meant to fix it before I hit post.

The most important thing to know, is the date of your installers or version. Otherwise no one can help you.
Anyway, probably you will require to contact GOG support directly.
I stated... the patch number according to gog
version numbers according to gog

3.0 is my install
trying to install
3.01
3.02
3.03
for Pillars
White March
White March part two

I can get all the updates for pillars and white march to install no errors... then white march part 2 patches start chucking up errors 14 update gives an error for one file not matching... then update 15 states its the wrong game version.

Thats just one of the ways I have tried to update it...

I tried updating 3.01 for all patches in order then 3.02
but the updates chuck up an error for pillars claiming wrong update when I try to update any further.

The whitemarch II 3.01 patch spits out
Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part 2 patch log
Incorrect version of: D:\Games\gog\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_data\assetbundles\prefabs\objectbundle\px1_cre_blight_ice_terror.unity3d

But updates everything else fine... yet the next patch wont install at all.

It reads to me like you have updated out of sequence and ended up with effectively a broken installation. That being the case, your only option is to download the main 3.03 installers. Now before you go all ballistic, I know what you said about your internet limit, but you must understand that buying games from GOG, a digital delivery service, requires that you download large files. Surely you have other internet provider options?
Please read more carefully...
I have reinstalled OVER AND OVER AND OVER again... I dont have the bandwidth to download the 3.03 installers.

No Sequence of patch installs WORK

try installing 3.01 Pillars main/White March/White march II
Works
Then 3.02 will not install claims its the wrong version.

If I install 3.01 3.02 3.03 Main it works
Then I can install
White march 3.01 3.02 3.03
Works
Then
White March II wont function correctly.

IT seems to me that a problem exists with the patch files.

I have even Tried stuff like installing the Expansion patches first then the Pillars main patches etc or any other number of weird orders.

This is applying patches on a NEW installation with no mods and the old installation uninstalled/deleted.
I have downloaded the patch files twice as I thought maybe they were somehow corrupt, I have run virus scans, have enough disk space etc.

Sorry for being terse... I have spent an entire Sunday trying to get this game working so I rather miffed at the moment.

Nothing wrong with my reading. Your attitude, on the other hand...
So your advice is to download the updated installer after reading I simply do not have the bandwidth to do just that.
About as useful as telling a drowning man to breathe water so he doesn't drown...

Yes my attitude is one of extreme annoyance, yours appears to be simply trolling?

If you haven't done so already, your best bet is probably to contact GOG Support (and cross your fingers it doesn't take too long). Don't have the expansions myself, so can't offer other advice than that I'm afraid.

You'd think it should work to upgrade everything to the same patch, so e.g. 3.01, and then 3.02 across the board, and finally 3.03, so not sure why that doesn't work. Must be very frustrating. I've spent days like that too, and it's tempting to throw the computer out the window.

Thanks for the advice, though I found another way, had a friend send me the files the patch claimed were wrong... It then detected them as the current version and just skipped them and all patches installed correctly and the game works.

Hickory,
Thank you for your completely pointless and useless suggestion that ignored facts provided in my OP, as luck would have it greater minds prevailed and the problem is solved.

Probably the easiest way is to install galaxy, add PoE to galaxy library, allow Galaxy to patch it and uninstall galaxy (or like me stay with galaxy installed as it is way more convinient to have your game kept up to date by another program).
rememeber that you can run the game without running galaxy, and run the galaxy client time to time just to allow it patch all the games fr You. It is not Steam, it is galaxy :P
Hi, new to the gog patching system.

I purchased this game some time ago, and I installed it; now I see there have been many updates. I have vanilla and the 2 WMs installed, so... I have to install one by one the updates to the vanilla game, then do the same with each of the exansions? or can I just install the WMII patches in order?

I'm starting to believe that the best option is to uninstall the game and download the full patched exes... is the gog client efficient in patching the games without leaving a mess?

In your case, because there was a huge gap between patches. Yes, uninstall the game and reinstall is the best option.

Another alternative is the use of GOG Galaxy, which is still in beta, who in theory should handle the patching in a transparent way to the user.

The gog installers usually includes the last patch available (only exception is when the patch has been released 1-7 days before). So, for this date, if you uses the current installers, everything should be OK.
