I am trying to figure out if there is a list to understand the numbering of GoG titles as they pertain to the game versions.

Is there a list for PoE that shows what 2.4.0.9 and 2.4.1.0 correspond to?
What is the DLC 2.0.0.9 and 2.0.1.10?
What order am I supposed to install them in?
When do I install the pre-order item and pet?

Game distribution methods today are becoming hair pulling insane.
I miss the days of downloading one patch for one game from the actual developer.

Now I have a choice of 3 different games which are the same but in different wrappers and distributed by different entities.

I will always opt for DRM free games and I am happy we have GoG but their numbering system is very confusing.
You need to download the files: Pillars of Eternity 2.0 (GOG-9) and the preorder bonus stuff. Now if you own White March (which I assume you do since you own kickstarter exclusive items), download The White March - Part I 2.0 (GOG-9) and The White March - Part I - Patch 2.01 2.01 (GOG-10). Install all in that order. It should work now.

If you do not own White March, download and install Patch 2.01. Make sure to NOT install Patch 2.01 if you do own White March and install the 2.01 patch for White March instead - if you install the one for the base game, it'll break it.

Yes, it's kind of terrible. Never purchase Sword of the Stars: The Pit on GOG.

If it is your first time installing the game, only download the game and the DLC content (The pets) and install them.

Right now the game installer are marked as (Gog 9) so you need to download the Gog 10 (Patch for the 2.0.1) and in some days the Gog 11 (Patch 2.0.2 which has just been released by Obsidian)

I've got them marked as GOG-15!

Edit: Oh I see, it's gog-10 in Galaxy for reasons.

Edit2: Because my OS is set to MAC. ... What?

Ouch, this is still confusing, at least Gog now put the real patch number plus theirs.

Ok, my Gog # were for Windows - Non galaxy.

P.d. the Gog-# discrepancy probably is because they need to make small changes between platforms
For the current version of the main game installer, "2.7.0.10" is what it says in the downloaded file name, "GOG-10" is what it says on the GOG download page, and "v2.01" is the actual game version that it installs. It's a mess; I hope GOG gets better at this.

Anyway, here's a table showing the version mapping for some of the other files as well (based on their Linux downloads - I didn't check the other platforms):

----------------------------------------------------------
Pillars of Eternity (main game) installer:

1.0.0.1 = game version 1.00 (I think)
1.1.0.2 = game version 1.xx (don't remember exactly)
1.2.0.3 = game version 1.xx (don't remember exactly)
2.6.0.9 = GOG-9 = game version 2.00
2.7.0.10 = GOG-10 = game version 2.01

Pillars of Eternity (main game) patches:

2.6.7.10 = patch from GOG-9 (game version 2.00) to GOG-10 (game version 2.01)

White March (expansion) installer:

2.0.0.1 = GOG-1 = game version 2.00 PXI
2.1.0.2 = GOG-2 = game version 2.01 PXI
----------------------------------------------------------

Hope that helps.

99% of the time I have no problems here whatsoever, but yeah, giving games their own version numbers instead of the official ones that you read about everywhere else only needlessly complicates things.

Anyone have an updated list of what installer numbers match which versions of the game up through 3.03?

Thanks!

Nevermind, I just saw that it shows the patch number to version number in Galaxy.

Thanks anyway!

I have installed PoI sometime ago. Didn't play for quite a time and now wanted to patch it.

My game shows version 2.02 something. I downloaded all patches available on GOG but none of it works. It says I have to download another one.

Any ideas what to do?

Reinstall from zero will be the most easy way (if you don't has limitation with your BW)
