theycallmeboy: I've been unable to get the game to launch on my new laptop; it loaded properly on my older computer. However, now the game won't get beyond the Obsidian Entertainment logo before it stops and goes back to the desktop. There are no errors or other indications as to why this happened.

I've tried several of the troubleshooting suggestions. I've installed and run the game both through GOG Galaxy and by downloading the installation files directly from the website. I've tried installing and running normally and as an administrator. I've updated my graphics drivers. However, none of these efforts have worked.

The curious thing is that the game DID load on one occasion. After downloading the installation files from the website, I installed the game and it loaded up the title menu. However, it hasn't happened again. I've had this same problem with Pathfinder: Kingmaker, with the same situation of the game working once and then not again.

Is it possible that my antivirus software is causing problems? Here are the basic specs of my laptop; could any of this be the cause of the trouble and, if so, is there a fix?

RaztheDestroyer: Surprising to me, your GPU should run the game on the lower settings. Your AV could so easiiy be the issue so try whitelisting the .exe file.
