Running the Linux version (Ubuntu). I am encountering odd audio problems specifically with the audio driven by the Effects slider.

- Characters only make sound effects, e.g. footstep noises, combat sounds, when they're at the tippy top of the screen and get extremely quiet in the middle and then virtually silent near the bottom, i.e. just above the UI boxes. This makes it so combat encounters are strangely tranquil and quiet, but have unexpected bursts of almost normal (but still too quiet) volume when it's coming from close to the top of the screen.

- When I put on headphones, I notice odd behavior in the environmental sounds, with sounds unpredictably shifting between ears and getting quieter or louder when the screen scrolls, with no obvious correlation between the sound and the location of the object that is supposed to be causing it on my screen. I scroll the screen back and forth by a waterfall that's in full view and I cannot even describe how randomly the game shifts the audio volume levels and balance. It isn't changing except when the screen scrolls, so it's not just garbly messed up glitch noise or anything like that. It's just as though it's not mapped correctly to the screen.

- All sound effects (i.e. sounds driven by the Effects slider) are strangely quiet at all times, even with volume at 100% and my speakers at full volume. I know this is strange behavior because I just played POE1 and distinctly remember I had to turn the Effects slider down considerably (something like perhaps 40 or 35%) because the game was quite loud during combat. And I've played POE2 on Windows before and I seem to recall the game being no less punchy with its SFX.

-Voices and music seem to be okay although they should probably also be louder on maximum volume than they are.

I know it's been a while, but did you aver found a solution?

I found creating a virtual surround sound output helps, but it sounds kinda muffled. So it's a tradeoff.
