Hello!

I am downloading the version including both add-ons but I am confused with the patches.

For the main game there is a patch 3.07.0.1318.

For each of the add-ons there are patches 3.03, 3.04 and 3.05.

But should I really install 3.07 for the main game, then the first add-on with 3.03 till 3.05 although the game already is at version 3.07? And the second one again starting with the old numer 3.03?

Or do the patches refer only to their target, i.e. patch 3.05 for White March 1 is only for White March 1, so the game does not get confused when I install patches with lower numbers than already installed?.

If you download the full installers you don't need *any* patches at all. Just install 3.07.0.1318, not including patch. So, what you need is:

Pillars of Eternity (Part 3 of 3) 3.07.0.1318 2.4 GB

Yes, these are the exact files gog shows me for download (except I have no Deadfire Pack).

That makes it a lot easier only installing them and not worrying about the patches.

Although If I don't need any of the patches it seems odd that gog lists them for downloaded.

They've been there since before the latest patch and GOG just hasn't taken them down, probably for people with older games.

The Deadfire pack is free DLC but currently still requires a separate "purchase." You can do that here. Otherwise, it won't show up in your list of PoE1 downloads.
