ok, so today I tried to download the latest patch and the beard dlc via galaxy and it naturally didn't work
then tried to download the files from the web page and saw that links for them were broken
after trying it for a few times I managed to download the files but it turns out the patch itself is broken. Whenever I try to install the latest patch a log file appears filled with things like :
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\animation.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\audio.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\cameras.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\character_hd.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\character_headandskin_hd.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\characters.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\globalprefabs.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\gui.unity3d
Error modifying d:\pillars of eternity ii deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles\items.unity3d
so on and so forth...
and now POE2 doesn't show up on galaxy client at all, eventhough it's installed and was visible before I made the mistake of trying to patch it, what the heck?
I installed that stupid beard dlc before applying the patch, maybe that's the reason eventhough it's the stupidest possible reason but it seems now I have to uninstall then reinstall the whole damned thing since it won't even start now.
