Hi all,

I was playing PoE fine until I updated Windows 10 last night. Not sure what changed but when I try to run the game i get this error

"Couldn't switch to requested monitor resolution

Details
Switching to resolution 3x0 failed, trying lower one
Switching to resolution 3x0 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: could not switch resolution (1920x1200 fs=1 hz=0)"

I tried to fix this by modifying the resolution in regedit from a post I saw earlier but changing regedit to 1920x1080x60 but I still got the same message.

Anyone know how to help with this?

after installing a big Win 10 update I had the same problem with the game :(

For me following steps helped to play the game again:

1.) Change your system resolution to a lower value than your native resolution.

2.) Start PoE

3.) Change your resolution back to your native settings.

Well now:
In my case, the error message

comes, because my native screen resolution is 1920x1200 (using Windows 10 - 1709),
and because the game does want to start with a 16:10 screen relation.

In order to come around that, I now am using "12noon Display Changer" from
by setting 1920x1080 which is a 16:9 screen relation.
And thus it works perfectly.

And in order to avoid the desktop icon distribution puzzling and to restore it, I am using "DesktopOK".
