I purchased the Deadfire base game through GOG but due to recent actions committed by GOG pr I am discontinuing my support of Good Old Games (please, this is not the thread to discuss that).

What I want to know is: Will Deadfire DLC purchased through Steam or elsewhere be compatible with the base game?

With the base game from GOG? No. The install method is totally different and the GOG install will not recognise any external DLC or patches.
Well that sucks. But thanks, Hickory.

It's not a conspiracy...;) It's simply two very different distribution companies. I find it fairly odd that the game devs themselves won't sell/post their games/patches/DLC/ directly--as they used to do, routinely. Guess they don't mind losing the 30% or so these days. Go figure.

Right? GOG and Steam are supurfulous really. It wouldn't take much for developers to sell digitially themselves. But yeah. Go figure.
In such case, the publisher goes down - all their games go down too. But it's very unlikely for that to happen for Steam or GoG because they get their cut from thousands of products instead of one or two. Also, ask customers of Beamdog how are they satisfied when bought Baldur's Gate EE directly from them and via their launcher.

What's the issue with GoG public relation, give some links please?
