Do you know the background music in the menu? This I don't recognize from Lord of the Rings... But I heard some theme during the game that reminds of Lord of the Rings; I don't remember when. More clearly than this, I think the battle music in PoE is similar to some theme in Baldur's Gate 2.

Yes, I didn't mean that they took it directly from LOTR but rather one of the game play background music scores was reminiscent of that movie trilogy. Another sounds very Asian, similar to things that I've heard in epic Chinese movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

No, not at all. There are a few pieces that sound a lot like Baldur's Gate, but other than that... no.
