So the Min / Maxer in me has a question.

1) Experience points - should I be using takedown on everyone I get my grubby hands on just to get an EXP boost? I just did the Pakistan tutorial, and I can't help but feel like I should have knocked out every solo soldier. How are EXP points gained?

2) Stealth - is there a reason to do a mission totally stealthy? I mean, I get it if there is a mission objective - but let's say there isn't. Does breaking stealth automatically lower your EXP gains or increase your "Danger" level? Or does it just cause enemies to spawn en masse. If I break stealth too soon, do I lose EXP / "stealth bonus" or am I just risking an increase in danger or death at the hands of the baddies that will spawn?

Basically I'm asking if there are "secret" things I will miss out on if I break stealth, or if it's just a matter of maybe incurring Danger and having to deal with more bad guys (again, assuming a stealth outcome isn't listed in my Secondary / Bonus objectives).

Well, if you are seriously going to fight your way thru the missions after tutorial - then PREPARE TO DIE. You simply cannot win. No joke. You can just stall for the time till evac.
So yes, there ARE good reasons to go full stealth.

Its a spy agency type of game so stealth is obviously the goal. You should only shoot in case you get spotted amd try to make a run for it asap.

That goes out the window on the KGB storyline were they force you to pick 3 people to take on a siege at your base.
You cannot avoid this and the battle starts with 4 enemies that can hit your characters who are in full cover for tonnes of damage and they will all shoot at the same target.
Then in 4 rounds another 4 enemies spawn and so on and so on until the map is littered with enemies you have to just run through and hope you survive.

Sounds ... very bad, to say it politely. Is there a way around to it?

I really hope this game will not be a mess like No Mans Sky, the epitome of a messed up game.

We need locally stored saves and many fixes like the line of sight issue.

For locally stored saves download GOG-loader version, NOT a Galaxy version.

I had no problems on that mission and it was on hard difficulty. I did have an agent that I had given an HP boost which allowed him to do a takedown on an enemy agent on turn 1. On the other hand the 2 other guys were min-level recruits that has just been doing jobs for me at the HQ and had no combat experience or proper equipment since I'm playing blind and wasn't prepared for the mission. Those recruits still killed one guy each on turn 1 since you face grunts with no cover and no awareness at the start (besides the two enemy agents).

After that I battled my way down and around on the outside and used full cover to break line of sight from enemies as much as possible while moving toward evac with my back free. All of the agents took a good amount of damage but they all made it out alive.

Hang on the saves are all online and not offline?
Explains the png pictures in the save folder.
If that is the case then im getting a refund, I buy games here to avoid DRM not have to have an online connection to have to play my games.

Use GOG-downloader version & u will get offline version of the game with saves located on your hard disk.

This may or may not work as I have the downloader/offline files (identical) and I don't have saves if I'm not online.

I'm waiting just a little bit longer to hear from the devs if it's a bug or a feature that saves are online regardless of what version you're running and if so I'm also going to ask for a refund.

That's no excuse for this.
Every other game on GoG you can use the Galaxy downloader to keep your games all in one area now suddenly this one game needs you to be online to get your save games?
Why is that a feature?, its ludicrous if you ask me to but a DRM free game up on GoG with DRM saves.
If this is what GoG is now turning to with using the Galaxy application then the service is no better than Steam at this moment and i hope that is not the case because why buy from here if its just more DRM.

So I investigated some more on my own and I found that it appears to have been a bug which I will post to the bug section in a moment. The way to resolve the issue fopr me was to start a new campaign while offline and save that. That created a new save directory under user/myname/appdata/local/phantomdoctrine/saved. I then moved all the saves from the other save-directory that I had problem with to this new directory.

I can now play my game saves both online and offline without an issue so far (finger's crossed).

Just checked my appdata folder and did what you said and I was able to locate my saves so I can confirm from my end that the game does save locally but only offline.

This does not at all sound like something we would have done intentionally and I'm sure that GOG didn't do this intentionally either. Sounds like some sort of glitch in Galaxy to me. I forwarded this to our QA team.
