Hello, I have a question concerning the Windows versions of Phantasmagoria 1&2.

From my understanding, Phantasmagoria 2 has better FMV on the windows version. However, does Phantasmagoria 1 also have any improvements in the Windows version, or is it a carbon copy of the DOS version? AKA, can I rest assured that the DOS version, that GOG provides, is actually the best version for the original game?

Maybe my question is a bit confusing.
Basically, the original Phantasmagoria had an installer for Windows and DOS on the same disc. I heard that Phantasmagoria 2 had better FMV on Windows, however, my question is whether or not the same applies for Phantasmagoria 1, or is the DOS version the same as the Windows?

Yeah, sorry, it's not confusing, I just mixed up 1st and 2nd Phantasmagoria. :D Yes, there's enhanced version of 2nd Phantasmagoria, but I never heard about difference between DOS and Windows version of the 1st game (although I doubt that there is any difference, as there is no mention about this in the manual)

Both Phantasmagoria 1 and 2 have Windows versions, but both versions no longer run on modern versions of Windows for various reasons (P1 is a 16-bit application and P2 has a DirectDraw bug). It's a shame because P2's videos are higher quality in the Windows version, with 65K color and doubled resolution (no interlacing).

If you copy the game's files or download it on a computer running Windows 98 or earlier it should play without issue, but this is hardly ideal. :(
To answer the question, no their is no difference between the windows and dos version of the original phantasmagoria,
