Ok, first... I said screw it with all that hassle of dosbox which is overly complicated and has no direct idea of function without putting more effort into learning it than its worth for one game or a few games. I'm a virtual box fan... so I've got phantasmagoria's iso and loaded it as a CD, so much easier and faster, anyways lol... my problem is i can't get it into full screen. I read somewhere about changing a configuration setting in its files somewhere but i can't find the topic now and don't remember. Everything i find is about it played on dosbox and how to make DB fullscreen... well I'm just using the iso in WinXP on my virtual box so how do i manage to get a full screen? id appreciate some advice on this... :-/

The GOG version includes a ready-to-run DOSBox environment for the game. Just install the game and start it, no further DOSBox configuration needed. Most people don't even know GOG uses DOSBox in the background for many of the old games.

The problem with Win XP is, that Phantasmagoria is a DOS title, but Win XP isn't based on DOS anymore and has to emulate a DOS environment too to run the game. While some DOS programs run this way, others don't. A Win98 system would be better as this Windows version is still capable of running natively in DOS mode. Additionally you're emulating Win XP's environment in the VM, which makes things even more complicated. The VM is probably not able to go fullscreen in the game's low resolution. However, you could try setting compatibility mode for Win 95 for the game as well as the compatibility option to run it in 640x480 and with 256 colors. Also set your virtual desktop to 256 colors.
phantasmagoria would only run full screen if the resolution is set to 640x480 when running the windows version.
