Should I get this, or head straight for Perimeter 2? I seldom buy prequels unless they have a story worth playing for to understand the sequel, such as the Homeworld games. Has anyone played this and Perimeter 2? I've read reviews saying that Perimeter 2 is unimpressive compared to 1, but is it watered down, or is it simply a continuation of 1 with little new features?
I'm currently undecided between getting this or Perimeter 2. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Well, what I read in this post: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/perimeter/so_who_amp_039_s_buying_perimeter_2 indicates that is kinda lame.
And ask yourself. $10 (or is it $6?) for the original, which everyone says is better, or $30 for the sequel, which is just trying to bank off the success(? .. I don't see how a game I had never HEARD of before GOG can be that successful..) of the original.
Seems a no brainer to me. Buy #1.
This game is very hard. It's not like any other RTS and some of the campaign levels are annoying. The second game is really bad though.

Quite the thread resurrection there! :)
I agree, it is very hard. But it forced me to step back and analyze how I was playing it - was I using play styles from other games; just massing up the right kind of units and trying to overwhelm the AI, or was I actually using *strategy*? This game needs decent strategy to win.
One level I found was crazy hard, as you can see from my other posts... but it's incredibly satisfying to win it - I mean, you really are king of the world when you win it!
Worth buying? Heck yeah.
