Anyone know how to configure those files or where I could find an explanation on how to? Thank you.
If you want I can look into writing a little tutorial or program to edit those files.
They are all in binary with no labling. When I was younger I use to poke and prod in those files to change sum of the values with a hex editor.

If you know what you are looking for you can make a transport hold thousands of fighters ;P and cost half the entire universe in upkeep.

EDIT: I decided to just show you how rather than make a program.
Steps:
-Create a new race (name it, choose an image and give a description)
-Do not edit anything else and Accept the changes
-Exit out of the game
-Open .\Pax Imperia - Eminent Domain\Data\SpecData with a hex editor (i used HxD)
-Look at the image I have provided and change what you want

Notes:
-Back up your SpecData before you do this if you have already made races
-If you start with a clean SpecData it is easier to edit the right things
-All of these positions should be correct but I did guess a bunch(educated guess) and checked the starts and ends of each trait pool
-I didn't include the temps and atmosphere as it is 4am and really you don't need it
-Do not try to edit the race once you have made it with more than 10 points it will not show you the game is made to recalculate everything and if anything is amiss it will reset ;)
-If you choose everything, you will know it works as psychic will be active and all planets green
-I'm not sure if this works in multiplayer, if it does please show respect and do not use it (unless you all agree)

As for the hulldata i suggest you have a play around with the hex editor and change little bits at a time keep checking and what not. I got a lot of this knowledge from just making a backup changing values and starting the game. Hope this helps ;)

Thanks for that Zelif.

I just tried it however and got a CTD (I followed everything correctly)

Do you have a working SpecData file for an uber race you can upload?
I just checked and it seems to not work with the 1.072 version(which is the GOG version), it seems that the game was patched to calculate the custom specie's data file when loading each one.
Dam this is a bummer :( I should have tested this out. (probably patched to make sure no one used this in multiplayer)

The CTD would most likely be caused by going too far in the description, there must be a part where it tells the game how long the description text and name of the species. This info is pretty useless now that it does that check before you start a game.

When I get up tomorrow I will have a check to see if I can edit the already made species to get around the check.
Sooo...anything new on the specdata cheats?
Na, I tried for a few hrs poking around in the spec data to no avail. Hull data edits still works in singleplayer but not sure if it works in multiplayer. (tho as always the AI get the hull data advantage too but it seems to cripple them as they like to build the auto ships which will fill out a massive hull space.(if you say set transports to have 1,000,000 hull space.)

Your best cheats are still the research save edits and domestic save edit.
When I was younger I improved the 255% research cheat (basically put it to the max integer amount 16,777,215%) and came up with the domestic save edit but it is very expensive. (Increased each spending on esp, constr and research over 100%)

First you need to have a hex editor like normal, than you goto
search and find the 0014 0000 0014 0000 0014 0000 0014 0000 0014 0000,
than dont worry bout changing the 14 into FF cos it doesnt matter much
look at the four 0's behind the 14's and change them into F's, so it
would look like this
0014 FFFF 0014 FFFF 0014 FFFF 0014 FFFF 0014 FFFF.
And there you have around 16 770 000% in each research field.
I cant seem to find the 2nd one, not sure if I ever posted it. But a short explanation of it to find it.
Set speed to 0 (or pause)
Save game.
Copy the save.
Change the 3 fields in domestic menu.
Save again.
Exit out and use a Hex Editor and compare the 2 files for any changes. It should be something that looks like:

0000 0064 0000 0064 0000 0064
Changed to
0000 00xx 0000 00xx 0000 00xx

The x's are the number you changed the slider to. ( 64 hex = 100 dec)

if you change it to
0000 00FF 0000 00FF 0000 00FF

That should make it to 255% in each field. (you can replace some of the 0's with Fs to make it much larger)
Be warned tho when doing this it costs a LOT of $ the larger your empire is.

Most if not all the "cheats" for this game are just save game edits or edits to the data files.
Thanks man :)

Hello again! Could you help me edit the HullData file please? Is there any info about what the details are inside it? Thank you!
Hello guys. I have been playing Pax Imperia on and off for quite some time and I have a couple of files (Thanks to Dirty Little Helper) that will give you and edge over the AI opponents.
HullData will modify the space and hull hit points for all the ships in the game
and
SpecData will give you a new custom race with all the traits to the max.

www.dlh.net/en/games/602/pax-imperia-2.html#CHEATS

As the files seem to be missing from the DLH server I uploaded them in the bellow link.
we.tl/t-8zEac5Fiab (WeTransfer.com)

After download make sure to scan with your anti-virus software to be on the safe side.

Just rename the original files to xxx_old (or something easy to remember and copy the new files to the Data folder)

Enjoy.
The we.t link no longer works, can you please post a fresh link.

What hex in the HullData file link to hull capacity?
