I have a save file in this game that I played over 30 years (in game time) from year 1300.
I saw some annoying bugs, not sure if it is related to the hack software that I use.
Let me explain what are the hacks that I used.
First I found the standard map file online, and used the map editor to edit it a little bit, making it an easier start for Lubeck and remove some cities, just to start the game with less than 24 cities.
After gaining the status of Alderman, I took the tasks of building new cities, and built up to 26 of cities in total.
This is a hard limit of number of cities, without hacks the game will not offer any new task for building new city.
So I used the combination these two programs, CheatEngine and HxD to alter the Patrician3.exe file to force the game to give out more city building tasks.
But the production of the new cities are usually terrible, so I found some cheat software from some Chinese sites call P3 Insight. I used them to alter the production of these new cities, so that they could produce more stuff. This hack software actually worked quite well, unfortunately they only works in Win XP, and won't work in Win 10 or Win 7.
Not sure if this hack somehow messed up the game.
Currently, my game seems to have lost the date recognition. When I take on a new task for building the city Boston, the game gives me a due date of 2 years BEFORE the intended date. And after building the city, I don't get any indication of successful mission, the task just kinda stuck preventing me from taking anymore new tasks.
Have anyone actually played the game for that long before?
Have you seen bugs like this before?
If the Chinese could hack it, I'm hoping someone else could do the same, and make it usable for Win 10.
This is such a classic game, I do much prefer to play this game than Patrician 4 (I bought P4 on steam and I think the game don't feel as fun and as immersive as P3).
