I've started the first beginner campaign, my company has well flourished but I can't find much captains for my ships autotrade commands, and I'm getting really bored of guiding them manually in repetitive trade routes. I'm looking every day in every tavern I can, I've found only one captain in tree months. Is it bad luck or designed by the game ? there's another way to avoid such micro-management or a simpler way to find/hire them ?

Hi,
I've not played any campaigns but in the Single player game there are usually always 2 captains some where in the Hanse. You just need a ship or presence (office in all town to quickly search which ones have those elusive Captains. Once employed it can take a day to respawn the new one. some times even it the same town.
Hope that helps
Thanks, I guess I'll just have to be patient then.
I had the same kind of trouble, though I've found a hint on one of the forums, that they like to get stuck in the "river" towns. It worked as well, and I got my first captain in Torun :)

capture or build snakes and send them to nearest town. till you have a spy in ech town. when a capt shows up grab him. if he is no good load a boat with 20 beer or salt (cheap) send him out to get taken oer. if his boat has weapons the pirates will most likely keep the boat. or while he battles the pirate sink him, look for newcapt.
