This is no official thread. Just a collection of some information I came across and consider worth sharing. Despite there is hardly any active user in this forums, it still should have at least some use for exchange of information to help each other.

Like with my previous thread I encourage the one put officially in charge by Owlcat who oversees this forums, to make the information found here their own.

================================================

If you come across solutions or workarounds nowhere else being mentioned, feel free to share. This collection is not perfect, by all means. I try to keep this updated as long as I am playing the game myself.

If you ask for official support check owlcatgames.com/support in regards of the game itself.
In regards of GOG related stuff, like offline installers, please contact the GOG support. Those two are two different companies, a fact it had been often overlooked it seems.

You must not expect official support via forums. That is not how these forums works. Reporting a bug here will do little to nothing. Use the ingame reporting tool ALT+B.

What you do here is asking advice from other players and checking if some issues are known and probably even finding some work around until it gets patched eventually. Not all issues which can be seen ingame are rooted in the game.

================================================

When you have an issue and start checking, make sure to make a general check to get faster to a possible solution:

1. Is the version you are playing the latest?

2. Are you using mods? If yes, do the issues still persist when you deactivate the mods?

3. Are the game files integrity still okay? You can check it via GOG Galaxy. If you are using offline installers it is recommended to make a fresh install to be on the safe side. After multiple patches there is no guarantee that some leftover files might lead to unknown issue which would usually be removed with a verification of game files.

4. Are you playing the game with combat in real time mode or turn based mode? If you are playing it in turn based mode, do the issues still persist when switching to real time mode?

5. Make sure to provide information which OS you are using. There are differences even between Windows versions which can lead to certain issues.

I personally recommend playing the game on SSD too, since most issues I have seen are loading related issues. That is why it is recommended so often to save and reload in doubt, when you are unsure if something is missing ingame (like an area exit).

================================================

1. General FPS issues

There is a known issue about the game behaving weird in regards with their FPS on some Windows PCs. The issue seems on the coding side and is seemingly related to how the game is processed by some CPUs. By increasing the game's priority and eventually manually adjusting core usage the issue can be resolved.

================================================

2. FPS drop when selecting specific characters

There is a known issue about problems with the user interface can causing FPS drops when selecting specific characters in your party. There have been several work arounds which seem to work, based on the different origins of the issue.

In some cases the visuals did not add up with the game stats of that character. A loading issue related to stat enhancing equipment and eventually leveling up of a character.

Stripping said character naked, saving in that state, and then restarting the game can solve the issue. It is similar to the loading issues which can be observed when certain permanent stati seem not to dissapear despite a proper long rest.

The issue can be often observed with characters who have many abilities, those on auto-on, and eventually buffs. Currently kineticist players are seemingly mostly affected by it.

Please check if you have auto-fill for your hotbar on or off. Having it turned off might be a culprit to have the issue triggered.

In some cases forcing your profile folder to make a refresh can also help (I can only guess because of leftover files colliding with the latest version of the game).

For Windows it would be %systemdrive%\users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous\

It is safe to keep portraits, savegames and screenshots - and then deleting the rest. Keep in mind to adjust general options again after doing so.

================================================

3. FPS drop when changing equipped items which add skills

This bug can be observed when the option to auto-fill the hotbar is deactivated. Related to #2 the issue resolves when turning the option on again.

4. Waiting forever in Act 4 for the area feature to unlock - semi-critical

There have been unusually plenty of reports where people displayed a lack of understanding how that certain special purple city feature is supposed to work. If it applies to you as well: send a bug report ingame using ALT+B.

Solution: the first time you enter the purple city through the portal you are supposed to see a tutorial which explains to you that the city buildings change in shape and positions depending on the rotation of your camera. If you get stuck somewhere or you do not see a way to move on, having a look from a different angle will help.

In some cases when changing of the angle of the camera does not seem to trigger anything, it can be a loading issue. Save your game. And restart and reload.

Currently it is recommended by the community to increase the auto-save feature from three to eventually five or more to be on the safe side there. In some very rare occassion the loading issue was so severe that you got thrown out of the map.

================================================

5. Missing essential quest items because of lost corpses - Critical

While the issue with a certain lich spell has been addressed, it is still worth to mention that the ragdoll behaviour of enemies can behave... strangely. Please pay attention to missing corpses. In some occassions and certain areas it can stop your game's progression entirely, when said corpse which has e.g. a key to open a door e.g. blow to pieces and start falling below the ground -> out of the reachable area -> key not lootable anymore.

Usually it is solved by the pop up about lootables when leaving an area. But on certain maps/areas that feature is not properly implemented.

Issue can probably prevented when turning the gore option off. Still best to report issues on relevant map so the actual issue (map design) can be fixed properly.

6. If your game takes unusual long to startup or gets stuck during startup loading

a. Backup your portraits, savegames, screenshots
For Windows you can find them here %systemdrive%\users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous\
b. Uninstall the game
c. Delete the folder %systemdrive%\users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous\
d. Delete the folder %systemdrive%\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp\Owlcat Games
e. Reinstall
f. Check if it works properly again now.
g. Add your backed up files back into the profile folder

Advance tip: Apps like RevoUninstaller can help you with cleanups like this without the extra step of deleting the temp folder manually.

Note: in some cases it suffices just cleaning up the mentioned folders without the need to actually uninstall and reinstall. But a proper reinstall is more thorough, preventing further unknown issues which might be related.

================================================

7. Mouse is behaving weird during startup, as if moving to the edge of screen

Issue can be observed when other peripherials are connected, like USB controllers. Might be related to the officially known issue with dlls. Unplugging the unneeded stuff usually solves the problem.

================================================

8. It is unclear how to revive dead companions in safe haven

Use a raise dead/ressurection scroll when having dead companion selected. Beware: currently there seems an issue which removes petrified and killed dominated companions from the party when changing area. Best to save / revive dead companions on spot to prevent safe haven related issues.

I wish I could change the thread's title already.

Anyroads, added a few new points plus changed the order of the list to have it more sorted.
