I recently came back to WotR after 2 months of not playing. One of the latest updates broke all of my saves because of a mod. I realize that it's my fault for using those but I simply could not have foreseen this.

The mod in question is "Scaling Cantrips". With it active, the game does not load at all, it freezes during main menu loading. With it uninstalled, the game loads, but all saves that have dependency on this mod cannot be loaded (which is pretty much all my saves).

Is there a way to either roll back to previous versions of the game on GOG, or to purge a save of object dependency?

Really? Nothing? No beta branch with 1.2 version? Am I simply screwed here?

If you have any of the previous offline installers saved, you could uninstall the version you have now and then re-install using the older installer.

If you're using GOG Galaxy, it should have the ability to roll back to older versions of games as described here: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-rollback-gog-galaxy-game-to-previous-version

That said, it appears that the rollback option only offers a few of the most recent versions (doesn't offer every single past version), so I don't know if it will go back far enough for you to get to 1.2.

Thank you. However, it doesn't go far enough. The oldest version there is 1.3.3 which is still broken with the mod.
