Like, totally deactivate it? I have zero interest in the armies, the battles, the building stuff, fortifications, morale, etc.

I tried changing it to automatic but my progress on the map still seems impeded by enemy forts.

My interest in the game is borderline at this point. The graphics are good, the rpg gameplay is fine, the writing is mediocre, some of the characters are interesting, the world-building is clunky and long-winded. I'm right on the edge of walking away.

If I really have to manage the Crusade stuff, it's an easy uninstall for me.

If you have opted out, then you should have no issue with the forts. The game is supposed to automatically advance those in synch with your progress in doing other things related to your party.

If you think you are bugged, use Alt-B to report it to Owlcat

You can use auto-mode for it, but then you have naturally to wait for it to resolve things. You will miss out content that way.
