Hi,

I'm looking to roll a Monk (Scaled Fist - Unarmed Strike, Dragon Style) for my first playthrough of the game, normal difficulty with the turn-based mod (just finished POE2 RTwP so I need a break from that).

I am wondering how important the stat distribution is for STR and CHA. I am not necessarily looking to dump any stat if I do not have to, so it could look something like:

STR: 17
DEX: 14
CON: 14
INT: 11
WIS: 10
CHA: 17

Alternatively:
STR: 18
DEX: 14
CON: 14
INT: 10
WIS: 10
CHA: 16

Or, if I am crazy for not dumping WIS to get higher STR and CHA, that feedback is welcomed! Thanks in advance.

I would say, neither. With a single non-relevant exception (+2 INT/WIS/CHA, -3 STR/DEX/CON amulet from Varnhold's Lot DLC), there are no items giving numbered bonus to ability scores. You have 5 ability score increases during the game (every four level) if you reach level 20 (either by abusing skill checks or in the very end of the game if you have all the DLCs). Ability bonus is calculated as (score - 10)/2 round downwards. That means, you would want to keep sum of ability scores you want to increase during the game odd at the first level as well. The main attribute is STR, so you want either 17 (+5) or 18 (+4). In first case, you won't change your CHA during the game, so there is no benefit in keeping 17 instead of 16. In second case, your fifth ability score increase are more or less wasted.
If you are not planning on reaching Lvl 20 (no DLCs and no skill check abusing), then there are 4 ability score increases, and the distribution is ok. I would go with the second one.
Dumping WIS would affect your Will, which is already bad, so I wouldn't do it. INT would be a better option to dump.

As far as I can see, you went with Angelkin, so you may consider 19+5/14/14/10/10/14, 19+5/14/14/8/12/14, 19+5/16/12/10/10/14, 19+5/16/12/10/10/16 or something like that.
