Pathfinder does not work with Catalina. Great. The game isn't 64 bit???
How about warning OSX users before buying, or just drop support.

I'm not a Mac user, so take what I say with a grain of salt. 1) Somebody on this thread says they can get it to work on Catalina: https://steamcommunity.com/app/640820/discussions/0/1743386053136545125/

(also a post that points to work-arounds to get it to work)

re: blaming devs or distributors for things like this - seems like Apple decided they would not support 32-bit applications on their operating system?

Thanks for the link, I am looking into it. Though I despise what apple did with Catalina, Pathfinder being quite a recent game I would of thought it to work...Divinity original sin 2, Pillars of eternity etc.. all work fine with Catalina.

Apple Announced more than two years before Catalina was shipped that they would be ending support for 32bit applications, and stopped excepting 32bit only applications to their stores one year before hand.

So, in all honesty they Developers and Distributors knew that the support for this game was coming to a close and decided to continue to stick the support for "Mac OS X(10.11+)" on their games. This should read differently, and they know it.

Dunno when "Catalina shipped". How does the timing work with P:K's Kickstarter project schedule?

Apple announce at WWDC 2017 that they would be ending 32 bit support, which means that it was a full year before Pathfinder was launched. And from what I can tell it would take back referencing some 64bit libraries in the Mac OS(if you are not familiar, then in stead of linking libraries to '/usr/lib/*' you link it to '/usr/lib64/*'). All of the required libraries exist as far as I can tell, because while I can start the game the characters move like dub-step sounds.

Revert your osx to mojave. I did. If mac wants to force us to not use 32 bit apps for literally no reason, I'm not going to use their new software. And, this is the last mac I'll buy. They nuked gaming for macs AGAIN with catalina. It's like they actively try to give people reasons to pick on us for using them, and at this point anyone who laughs at me for owning one isn't wrong.
