Jaethal_KP: Hi Huskarl2006 and ERBlank,
Thank you both for bringing this issue to our attention.
I wanted to confirm that, unfortunately, the development for Pathfinder: Kingmaker is no longer active, and we’re not able to produce or upload new builds for any platform. Because of this, the Linux version on GOG can’t be updated to patch 2.1.7b, including the fixes and the Japanese localization added in that update.
I understand this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience it causes. We appreciate you taking the time to flag the issue and for your support of the game!
Hi Jaethal_KP.
While I appreciate that you took your time to reply to us, I'm honestly not satisfied at all by this situation, especially as a user who bought the Imperial Edition of Pathfinder: Kingmaker.
This is not the first time at all that we GOG customers receive this kind of replies, and we're frankly exhausted. It's unacceptable that GOG can just be treated like a 2nd class store, that it just happens that some content never makes it to GOG for "reasons". We're first and foremost paying customers, and we deserve to be respected.
What is it even supposed to mean that Owlcat Games is unable to update the Linux port on GOG? How did it even happen to begin with, that Owlcat managed to update all three ports on Steam, while on GOG they managed to do so with Windows and Mac, but then failed to so for Linux? Did they lose the source code of the game because their computers crashed right before the updates for the Linux port on GOG were ready? Did their publisher order them "remember to update Kingmaker on GOG except the Linux version"? Or did GOG order them to do so?
For Pathfinder: Kingmaker it was a missing update on the Linux port. But we GOG users had also to tolerate game missing important bugfixes or whole content. All of this creates an atmosphere of mistrust and annoyance that I just can't tolerate anymore. And I have no intention of supporting developers and publishers that fuel this issue. I can humanely understand the difficulties developers have to face, but only in part. First ad foremost I'd like people to understand and respect
us as customers, as people who
give our money and trust when we buy games, and we deserve to have that rewarded.
