I was hoping someone could offer advice on making a main character build who uses quarterstaff weapons? I've always liked the idea, but I also don't like monk.

I only play in 'normal' so I guess it's not a huge deal, but I've got no real clue what's good, what offers synergy, what would capitalize on the strengths of the weapon, etc.

I'm assuming two handed fighter, though since it would be my baron I guess I'd want half-decent charisma? So maybe a thug dip, with the intimidate/persuasion feats, and dazzle-etc.? I'm not against a scaled fist dip for the obvious benefits, just don't want to 'play' as a monk.

I'll probably also play with the regular companions, though I tend to use bag of tricks and put them at 25 point buy to fix some of the...sillier...ones.

This is where you run into problems, the quarterstaff doesn't really have anything in particular going for it. You can use it, but it's basically going to play like any other two-handed weapon except worse. It can technically be used as a double weapon, but it's not particularly good even at that.

There are some feats and archetypes in the pen and paper game that can support the quarterstaff to some extent, but in they aren't part of the Kingmaker game unfortunately.
