Tired of not getting anywhere in Kingdom mode, I switched to auto. Today, my game still ended due to "kingdom crumbling". So I switched to "invincible kingdom" mode, yet still the game ends due to kingdom crumbling. My characters are at 11th level, there is no way I'm starting a new game to replay exactly what I just did. I'm sorry, but this game to me is unplayable due to the kingdom mode.

you lose cause you miss the deadlines on critical missions. it makes kingdom invincible, not disables doom-counter.

I also switched to auto mode a while back because it was too hard to manage the kingdom with so many disasters poping up and only a few BP and advisors to solve the issue.
So far in auto mode, I have been alble to keep playing but I missed the kingdom bulding aspect. I wish I could return to the Kingdom mode but the difficulty level of the kingdom management needs to be tone down; at least on the easy setting.
My first and second attempts were disasters, but then I stopped buying equipment items from vendors and spent all my excess cash on BP. Kingdom management is a breeze when you infuse your early kingdom with 2000+ BP by the time your characters are level 10 or so. Made a huge difference in my kingdom management.

You can probably do fine with less BP than what I've bought in my current game and still buy some stuff from the vendors, but I'd say give yourself at least 250-300 BP per town you create simply from cash purchases and you'll do fine. Some of the special buildings you buy in those towns see gifts granted to you every so often that sell for thousands each, so eventually you get your gold investment back if you sell most gifts. In my current game I've been gifted 3 Kama's so far that sell for 9000+ each, and that's just one craft buildings gifted items.

So be frugal early game and invest in the early kingdom and your game should be a lot easier. Don't forget to visit your new towns and speak to potential crafts people so their buildings unlock in the build screen. You need their unique buildings not generic ones of the same type.

mostly correct.
-claim provinces ASAP.
-Build villages ASAP
-Build Master buildings ASAP
-Upgrade villages to towns ASAP.
-Do not invest in infrastructure much unless you start running out of promotion projects
-There is literally no point in dropping a metric ton of gold on town building, unless you have a clear goal. reach secondary advisors and build just enough to keep promotions going after.
-as far as I can tell all stats, apart from community, economy, military and espionage have no secondary application. all they do is allowing to promote advisors for higher +skill.
-Curse projects are more or less useless, apart from plot ones.
-Most Trade agreements are ok. Not a high priority, as they will take a billion years to pay off.
-DO NOT EVER GO INTO NEGATIVE GOLD. it brings huge penalties to everything and will literally destroy your kingdom.

something like that.
oh, also be lawful and build bulletin boards in every village. cause DC's are through the roof.
