So 2 days ago when i started the game it just stopped working, i get a black screen followed with white and then a ''kingmaker.exe stopped working'' message. Even though the day before that it worked fine. I tried reinstalling and verify the files but the game still won't play.

try to wait and not press any buttons at all. usually works. I would also advise a cleaner mod from nexus as it solves like 50% of different problems with the game.

I tried that multiple times, i just walked my dog while the game was running, and i still won't run.

have you tried installing the mods though? in my experience whatever unity mod manager alone does to the game somehow makes it run better and load faster and cleaner on top of it solves almost everything on the technical side of things.

although there are quite some people with the game not running lately so maybe devs messed something up seriously this time around.

I had some custom portraits that i just removed but still didn't work. Meh, gonna try again in a few months then, got enough other games to play. Still thanks for your time

<----this person is a idiot, didn't fully read your reply, doing to many things at the same time. But still it won't run or well start or crash on startup or is stopped working a better defintion of it hmmmm, i'm getting off-track.

Well the game works again. I didn't do anything, it just works again.
