So when I first got the game it ran fine on patch like 1.02 or 1.03. Was able to get around 60-70 FPS no issues. Haven't played the game in like 10 days because I was binging AC:Odyssey. Came back to try and continue kingmaker and its suddenly this unplayable mess after the update. I am getting like sub 20 fps on the menu screen never mind even attempting to play the game. This should not be happening with my system as it seems to far surpass both the minimum and recommended system settings

I have a Legion Y520 laptop with:

Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz
GeForce GTX 1050ti 4 GB
16 GB of Ram
My Nvidia drivers are fully up to date.

I cant seem to figure out what is making the game lag to the point of unplayability.

People are reporting all sorts of issues with 416.16 drivers. If you have those, revert to older ones.

Depends on, what else is running in your laptop. I have an desctop computer,

Intel Core i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20 GHz
Geforce Gtx 750 4 GB
16 GB of Ram.

And my game runs. It runs mostly smootly, if i take off everything else. using firefox or anything else, and it is on the brink of total collaps. I have to turn them off, to being able to play.
And checking, how many resources are used, then they go up to 15 mb ram being used, 1 mb is used by galaxy.

And i am on of the slower ones here. I once watched somebody play, and he reloaded quite often to prove something. And he needed 3 seconds to load, while i need 20 -50 seconds. There is even the discussion around, that you need to put it on an ssd, to being able to enjoy it.
Laptop user are punished with this game, if you do not have an highend gaming laptop.

I reverted back to 411.7 and it is still just as laggy. No change. I dont have enough space on my SSD for Pathfinder Kingmaker. And I have been trying to run the game with literally no other programs running at the same time. Besides previously around 1.03 I could have Chrome with like 30 tabs open while I played Kingmaker and still hit around 60-70 fps but now I can barely make it into the in-game menu. Should I just ask for a refund or wait like 3 months and hope they have optimized it better?

I am on Windows 10 is that going to screw with the game?

Thats a good question. Some say yes, because they cannot play it at the moment, as it is just black there.
The strange thing on the other hand is, that in the same moment somebody writes, "i have windows 10 and have problems!", somebody else with the same system says, "i have win 10 and have no problem". Or somebody with win 7 writes, he/her has the same problem.

So, i assume, it must be something else. I am just somebody, which does not trust win 10 up to now. So, if anything happens, i am the first person accusing win 10 for causing the problems.
I am havng old Lenowo z-500 with win 10 and i have no issues playing on low graphic settings. Just loading new areas take some time, but of what i heard it is not only my problem.
Processor: Intel Core i3-5005U CPU @ 2.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon R7 M360

Saving is also iffy now, a quicksave can take a minute long.
I'm finding playability fine but loading a new location is about a 2 minute ordeal.

Yes. And you have this a lot of times. :(

Being in the city: Going from Marketplace into Throneroom - load - checking kingdom via table - load - back into throne room - load - Going out of the throne room to the marketplace - load - going out adventuring - load - being on the map, traveling to your goal, up to 3 ambushes on a days travel - load - load - load. From playing for 1 hour is at least 10 minutes only loading time.
