So yes it's a bit buggy...

But in the midst of all the calls for fixes it's important to note that Kingmaker is actually a really fun and addictive game.. and the speed that the patches and fixes are coming out is really appreciated.

"Beneath the surface" is not good enough for a game release. It should have been ready at release or the release date should have been held back. I appreciate what you're saying and I can see the excellent game this is "under the surface", but as of now it's a complete waste of my time.

I agree. I am sooo frustrated at this point. Bugs, gliches, bugs... Just now i am stucking, because shallow gulch does not appear. Before it was something else. And before of this, something else, too. I am so filled up with it.
I will put away this game for a week and then see again, for getting my inner peace back.
Why the fu**ing fu** did they release a game so bugged? And ok, they are fast at patching. But why the hell did they didn´t do this forehand ?!?

Yeah it seemed released a bit early and the biggest complaint they have (besides bugs) could have been fixed by making a true to Pathfinder difficultly. And while this is rough as hell. Atleast we didn't have to buy half the game as DLC released at day of release.

On Owlcat boards their sycophant's cannot see whats wrong with the game, and why its receving such bad reveiws. It is under baked, if that is due to running out of cash or some higherup refusing to move the release date back who knows. But Its likely done quite a bit of harm to the company already which is sad as I would love a CRPG of rise of the runelords.

While the scripted fights and stupid cannot stop the kingdom task to meet with someone in the throne room or see to emergency task pop ups are beyond Obnoxious. I too can see a great game below these screwups. The game is a sadist, and I keep coming back for more.

Currenty i just don't play it. I am waiting for promised big patch, and then few hotfixes and another big patch, unless game is at least working propery. So far i just finished first chapter, and i love storytelling and difficulty playing on normal. I was trying other difficulties (as i used to play on Path of the damned with Pillars of Eternity and in a days long gone i used to play BGII and IWD on Heart of Fury), but even on Hard crits are out of control on my enemies dispatching my team in 10 seconds (we need helmet mechanics from times of baldur's gate "Protects against critical hits" ;-) ). And i can't wait to see game fully working and balanced so i can really enjoy it at last.

You guys are harsh.. or maybe Im just old enough to remember how buggy Balders Gate was.... and it didn't get patches.
I would love to see a lot of improvements and fixes too.. but the game at it's core is an excellent game.

I remember Baldur's Gate too and it had some serious bugs, but it was not at the state that this game is, meaning unplayable. And yes, BG did get patches: v1.1.4315, v1.3.5512, SoA 23037, ToB v2.5.26498/26499.
Yeah, Baldur gate, temple of elemental evil, New Vegas, fallout 1~2, vampire of the masequade, lots of cult games were buggy as well on launch.
Less buggy games on launch were DOS and console games before this gen only I guess.
Or because 28k dial-up internet was so slow not many used it to complain.
They're also using unity which is... well, not really up to the task with complex games.

The critical hits from difficulty reminds me of pool of radiance ruins of myth drannor. The orcs you met in first few counters would kill player remembers easily and no way to resurrect them iirc. Even after first dungeon, the merchant ran off so no place to sell hoard.

Now I just hope there is a short cut from throne room to tavern/outside the city, a pathfinder pnp difficulty setting, and something to prevent kingdom management's death spiral other than auto mode. Using a 7~8 years old none gaming laptop E6320 and haven't met much bugs despite loading each map would take 3~15 minutes.. Maybe it's because I'm still using win7?

Nah. I have win 7 as well. but its faster here: i counted, and it needs around 30 second up to 1 minute to load for a new map. So, it must be because of the weak hardware at the laptop. I think, i do need this much time, because my computer is not the newest one anymore, too.
This long loading times reminds me on Baldurs Gate as well. i started smoking at this time. And because of the long loading times i was always smoking a cigarette in between. At the end of the game, i was around 2 boxes of zigarettes per day...

I hate this long loading times!

Holy crap those are long loading times! I average 4-5 seconds of a wait between map loadings, but then again I just built my own gaming Computer this month so I imagine thats why there is such a difference.

I love this game after having bought it Wednesday and having to restart due to a dumb bug they already fixed in the 1.0.5 patch. It was a bit annoying to start over, but as a Pathfinder Tabletop player for years, I'm so dang excited to see such high quality in a first time video game release. I'm also a Warhammer 40K fan and I've seen how crappy the transition from tabletop to video game can go.

Oh yeah. I was a Warhammer 40k fan, too. Tabletop. But Games Workshop was always all over money. What do you expect from such a company?
But just for making sure: i only said, the loading times remembers me on Baldurs Gate. I had this topic with others on steam and most of them (depending on the system) had much less, somebody else had like 3,5 minutes. I stopped the time, i had 70 seconds for the loading screen, 48 seconds for the first loading of a saved game and 23 seconds for getting into a new area (which can most possible varies from map to map (i have not counted again).
