Here a quick guide for problems that will occur on modern OS with Windows 7 or higher:

There are 2 problems with Parkan II in relation with monitors and screen resolutions other than 4:3 (widescreen monitors):

- With higher screen resolutions the UI fonts will get smaller up to be unreadable
- Resolutions different to 4:3 will cause the 3D world to be stretched (planets are eggs, not circles)

Solutions:

Against small fonts: I use the screen magnifier Glassbrick which is way better than the Windows magnifier.
Launch Parkan2 after changing the game's registry entry 'WindowMode' to 1, use 1920x1080 while Glassbrick is launched. Then you can use CTRL + Mousewheel everytime you want to magnify the screen on mission descripitons, logs etc.

Against stretched 3D world in widescreen resolutions, use this patch which will change the Render2.dll in the game folder:

Other stuff:
Visit the download section of www.Spacesimcentral.com, you will find there for Parkan1 an extensive walkthough, and a great mod compilation for Parkan2.

And how about just using recommended optimal resolution (i.e. 1280x1024)? ;)
