The third scenario (Suomassalmi) suddenly ends in axis defeat at the end of soviet turn 11. According to the status report for the turn before I still have 1 turn for brilliant victory, 7 for victory, and 11 for tactical victory. Is this a glitch or am I missing something in terms of victory/defeat conditions?

Likely a Russian unit captured your starting hex (hexes?), see this thread. If the enemy controls all golden hexes, you have lost. You might not see the capture if that doesn't happen in your field of view.

That was it, a Russian unit was sneaking around my backside. Now I know to keep an eye out for that. Thanks for the help.
