Has anyone played the Malta scenario in PG2's German campaign (Blitzkrieg)?

If I recall correctly, PG1 had the same scenario and it allowed a small deployment of airborne infantry.

I don't see how the scenario is playable as it stands right now and I'm wondering if I am experiencing a bug? Essentially the scenario is setup with all naval units, and allows air units deployable at an airfield on southeast coast of Malta.

Unfortunately I have only one plane full of fallshirmjaeger with which to take the whole island in a matter of like 8 turns. I don't see how this is possible.

I have tried purchasing every single inf. type and deploying to the map already mounted in air transport. I believe this is how the scenario is supposed to be played, however the game is not allowing me to deploy any further units. Fighter or assault aircraft are the only units I can get deployed on the map.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Some advice and [url=http://whoopy-cat.com/panzers/pg2/pg2-03-4.htm]this page advises :

~ Malta: Much of your army must be deployed in sea hexes. These will be deployed in landing craft (sea transports). You may find that you cannot fully deploy your core army here. If so, the remainder of your army can be deployed once you capture the northern port city/supply hex since it is a "port" hex.

Thank you, Kez, for the links, I will check them out and update the thread when I have opportunity.
I cant deploy my troops anywhere in this mission except 2 fields for Airplanes. Any Ideas?
Google just says that i got to deploy them in the sea but its not possible as well.

I tryed to just loose the mission as it seems to be a bug but the campaign ends if i do so. I have no idea how to keep going.

From the symptoms, it seems you play the game in harder way than expected because it sounds like the initial deployment hexes have been dismissed. When you start the scenario and have the sidebar with your units for deployment open, you should see the airfield and the cities of Zeitjar (?) and Zabber north of it. South and southeast of it in the sea are deployment hexes which are only available until the sidebar gets closed by clicking the checkmark.
Ok that explains it. I always close the sidebar and take a look at the map before i start deploying.

Is there a way to restart a scenario? If not i guess i got to replay the previous map, got a savegame at the start of every mission (of course after i closed the sidebar :D ).

Thanks for your help!

No, unfortunately one has to save the scenarios in the campaign manually to play them again. I could give a Malta save of mine, but you likely want to play with your core units and leaders.
hey guys i just DL'd this and i cant or the life of me get the deployment hexes available even after closing the sidebar as i cant deploy after that obviously :-/ any help here?

For Malta you can only deploy your ground units into sea hexes whilst the deployment sidebar is open. The sea deployment hexes are off the southeast corner of Malta.

Once you close the sidebar you can only deploy adjacent to supply hexes. This is how it works in all the scenarios in a campaign after the first one - once you close the sidebar you lose the initial deployment hexes (and make it a lot harder for yourself). If you want to look over the map before deploying the best thing to do is save whilst in the headquarters screen and start up the individual scenario and look at that before starting to deploy in your campaign.

shoot so i need to somehow restart this campaign/scenario? as i saved this i think after i closed the initial deployment bar to look over the map :-/
I usually run up to 5 saves during a campaign in case I make a mistake. One at the headquarters screen after completing a scenario, one after upgrading/purchasing but before deploying, one at the start of the first turn after deploying, one at the start of every fourth or fifth turn and one at the start of each of the other turns, overwriting as the campaign progresses. It is easy enough once you get used to it and means I'm not stuck if I do something stupid or careless.
