Very disappointed. British units very over rated, air power minimized and unrealistic, all one to one attacks, units hiding in plain sight, seaborne landings rarely unload, same for paratroopers, etc. I guess I expected more then lip play. Oh well, on to the next game in my back log.

Pacific General has a mass attack feature, but you have to keep in mind that these troops won't be available at other parts of the front. For the air units, their importance got reduced in PG2 compared to PG1, but I wouldn't say that's unrealistic - they are expensive and you can't to everything with fighters and bombers. I don't understand what you mean with hiding in plain sight (do they have a shorter spotting range than you?) and seaborne landings not unloading (what scenario are you talking about - playing D-Day as the Germans?).

Units in open terrain that only pop up when next to even when said unit has a four range for spotting; planes flying over armor in open terrain and not spotting them. It's one thing if a unit is in a town, forest, etc but just plain irritating otherwise. Malta (for seaborne). The Spitfire was a good plane but it didn't take 3 planes of the nearly as good (other then range) 190 to take them out. In a game where you are lucky to even have three and the British have three, it's highly unrealistic. I just got frustrated with the historical and tactical use flaws so moved on. It may just be its age showing. What may be the real issue is a (IMO) concept flaw - it seems to want to be a tactical level game but in operational scenarios and the scales just don't mix.
The airplane icon doesn't represent a single airplane. It represents squadrons or even wings of aircraft. In military, a 3:1 ratio is preferred to ensure victory and minimize casualties.
Land units not spotting: forests, hills and other terrains that block line of sight, prevent spotting if they are between you and the enemy.

edit: there is also Forest Camouflage leader: "If in a forest hex the unit cannot be spotted by enemy units unless they move adjacent to it."

Air units not spotting: it's a design decision. At the start of the turn, the planes are on low flight level. When they start to move, they ascend to higher flight level until they descent again to attack, refuel and -arm at airfield or to wait for next turn. While flying high, possibly over cloud cover, they don't spot anything. IMHO it would be very OP if you could recon half of the map with couple of fighters.
