When i start the game, the screen goes all black (i can hear a sound of the intro). The game is not responding to any key (ctraltdel shows that the game is not responding)

any thoughts how to fix this? what OLD video codecs are used in these videos?

The first MicroSoft codec was used. It was discontinued as included with the release of XP.

You can open the file /data/pe_menusystem.ini and edit it with any text editor.

find the lines
Play_intro=
and
Play_Campaign_Video=

make them no rather then yes
