You have to burn files track2.ogg till track17.ogg of the folder AUDIO as audio tracks on CD.

Obviously the program pandy.exe only plays sound tracks from CD (and not the ogg files located in the folder AUDIO of the game).
I think it's not a great solution, but as I think one should play this game once and leave it for a long time, maybe if you create an ISO as a CD Audio, burning virtually the OGG tracks, maybe it works. If someone tries it, could tell us if it works...

by any chance you mean the files have to be .wav?

Somebody? Some solution? I have create a iso with a ogg files and not work
Hey guys, you don't have to burn the CD or depend of it to make the music work. The program _inmm238 does the charm.

It worked for me before for Virtua Fighter PC (another game that uses CD audio tracks) and now I can confirm that it works with Pandemonium 2 as well! It is done by a fellow japanese called irori (the program's GUI is in english, his website was all in japanese), the downside is that I recently tried to enter his home website to see if it's still available for download: turns out it's down because it was hosted in Yahoo Geocities. I'm not sure if gog allows to post links to mega or the sorts, but I believe that it's a potential solution for games like these.

Basically what it does: It creates a playlist of the files and saves an .ini file (preferably _inmmcnf.ini), then it injects the game's exe to look for that ini file (where it contains the tracklist), so that whenever the game requests an audio track, the _inmmsrv.exe is executed, and loads the proper audio track (of course this also means you can alter the order of the audio tracks to the ones you prefer or if it is needed to do so).

Pre-requisite:
* Audio files must be wav, mp3, mid or rmi.

Need to convert ogg? Easy choices:
* If you are familiar with command-line consoles and ffmpeg, you can try batch conversion (also works for Windows if you set environment paths properly) from a Stack Overflow answer (google 'batch conversion ffmpeg' or use your preferred search engine: gog doesn't let me post links).

* If not and you're a Windows user, you can simply use foobar2000, it's an audio player that can cleanly convert audio files (the installer also provides a portable version for those that don't prefer a full installation).

Steps:

1) Download and install _inmm238.exe -- Note: do not forget the installation path, because you're going to go in there right after this.
2) Go to the program's installation path and open _inmmcnf.exe
3) Switch to the _inmm.ini tab
4) Click on "Add" button and select all the audio track files from the AUDIO folder of the game installation folder.
5) Verify that the order is correct, then hit the Save button, name it _inmmcnf.ini and place it within Pandemonium 2's directory (where pandy.exe is).
6) Close _inmm.dll setup
7) Keeping the _inmm's directory window, open a new window and navigate to the game's folder.
8) Drag & drop pandy.exe to _inmmcnf.exe
9) It will ask for confirmation. Choose Yes.
10) Launch the game.
11) Enjoy!

I must clarify that the first time I launched the game after patching it, the music started but stopped immediately, but then when trying to load new tracks (eg. by choosing "New game") it didn't happen again. I can close the game, reopen it and the main menu music will work just as it should. The clipping happens only for the first time it is launched after patching.

If doing the _inmm method, note that you need winamp also for _inmm. This is for people like me who don't use it. Also when renaming to _inmmcnf.ini the game will throw a " can't find _inmm.ini" error at you so just keep it the default name instead.

This is so much work just to get some music running on a game with having to convert .ogg files and then do all this on top of it lol.

You don't necessarily need Winamp- it also allows playback through DirectShow filters. You can set up playback of any audio format that you have a filter for, or if you want something like FLACs you can use madFlac filter or something.

Also unrelated to this reply, but also annoying is the fact that I downloaded the latest Win10 fork of ogg-winmm https://github.com/mohzy83/ogg-winmm and hex edited it to reference the AUDIO folder instead of the MUSIC folder (since the game has a file named MUSIC) and it still didn't work. I can confirm _inmm works for this game, though, but I don't use _inmm anymore.
