Hi everyone,
The game has a compelling concept and atmosphere, but it currently feels like a promising prototype rather than a fully realized experience.
What works well :
- Atmosphere & setting: The post-apocalyptic train journey is immersive and visually distinct.
- Resource tension : The scarcity of food, medicine, and fuel creates meaningful pressure.
- Moral dilemmas : Choosing who gets treatment or food adds emotional weight.
Areas for improvement:
1. Gameplay depth and progression
- The game lacks long-term progression : each run resets too much (crew, supplies, upgrades), making it hard to feel invested.
- Boss fights are underwhelming and repetitive. More variety, phases, or tactical depth would help.
- Crew development is shallow. Skills don’t evolve meaningfully based on actions.
2. Reward systems
- Completing missions or defeating bosses often yields minimal or unsatisfying rewards.
- There’s no sense of accumulated progress between journeys, which discourages replayability.
3. *Combat & AI
- Enemy behavior is inconsistent. Some enemies ignore combat entirely unless approached very closely.
- Weapon drops and crafting are limited. A **gunsmith or weapon mod system** would add depth.
#4 , Narrative & exploration
- The story ends abruptly. The world feels rich, but underexplored.
- A free exploration or endless mode (ex :.. round-trip train journeys) could extend the game’s life.
5* Technical polish
- UI lacks clarity (e.g. no tooltips for key resources).
- Audio balancing issues (e.g. music too loud, gunshots too soft).
- Performance bugs (e.g. alt-tabbing breaks fullscreen).
- Suggestions -
- Add character-specific quests, with branching outcomes.
- Introduce faction diplomacy, NPC passengers, and side missions.
- Let players retain some progress (crew, gear, upgrades) between runs.
- Expand the train customization system visually and functionally.
I hope the devs continue to build on this solid foundation. The concept is strong—it just needs more systems, polish, and narrative depth to reach its full potential.
