Right, so that's what I'm hearing. Imagine the sound effect "rain drops on watery surface through an 8 bit-system" and you have a good idea of what I'm talking about. I've tried various sound settings in the options menu to no avail.

It's not game breaking, but really annoying.

Running the game on Windows XP, 2.4ghz intel dual core, 3.5gb ram, 320mb geforce 8800 gts and a creative sound blaster x-fi.

Anyone had a similar problem or a solution?
