Just completed it , all i really have to say is ... wow i can't believe i almost missed this one.

Review
----------------------

GamePlay :

Well its a simple as it gets ... kill everything in sight. If it moves kill it,
coming out of playing bulletstorm (which these guys also made ) and playing a previous masterpiece was somethin .

10/10

Audio : Good music when you kill everything and excellent sound design,

(SPOILER) Plus the credit song is badass (spoiler)

Multiplayer :

Well when i did find a good server it was pretty damn good.

10/10

Final Words : This is a classic , I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to pick this one up...

I've just started this and wanted to add: Even if it doesn't move...kill it! :)
ah yes , true enough :)
How about the bosses that require absurd logical leaps to defeat? Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but the gladiator boss alone made me facepalm, to say nothing of the other bosses in BooH.
Painkiller is a PROPER Doom 3. It captures the atmosphere of the the first two Dooms, this mixture of fear and empowerment. To make it even funnier one could argue that Bulletstorm (also People Can Fly's game) is a PROPER Duke Nukem title. It's a real shame that those games didn't get the recognition they deserved.
I really couldn't agree more. An easy 10/10. Aside from a few bugs this is the perfect FPS, the best I've ever played. May even be the best action game I've ever played. I got Painkiller at the end of last year and have been addicted ever since.

You should really give Painkiller Overdose a try. For some reason it doesn't get the same hype the the original does, but I think its fantastically made.

That's because Painkiller was a whole new franchise made by nobodies, so there was no hype to begin with. On top of that the game was released around the same time as Doom 3 and Half Life 2 and got stomped by the marketing of those games.

Still, many Doom fans say that Painkiller is what Doom 3 should have been, and myself I can say that I've only played through HL2 once, while I've completed Painkiller I think seven times by now, and put even more time on the multiplayer.
For me, Painkiller is the best shooter I've ever played, and also my favorite game of all time.
I agree, great game. I just think that nowadays it has been surpassed by Serious Sam bfe (drm a part), but still Painkiller kept its age extremely well.
I fucking lov'd this game and i wish Bulletstorm finds its new home on GOG without GFWL overlay
I agree with all the admiration on this post. I think it really helps that the game was made specifically for PCs as well. Having played it both on a top-spec dedicated gaming rig, as well as a low-power Sandy Bridge-integrated GPU laptop, I find that the game scales wonderfully with its range of settings options.

And the gameplay, oh, the gameplay. It's kind of like driving a BMW; it does what it focuses on perfectly. This game is the best. It's too bad that other companies have run off a string of mediocre sequels/expansion packs, with not a worthwhile one to be found among them. Oh well, we'll always have the Black Edition here :)
Btw they are remaking it on steam called hell and damnation
