got the original painkiller but not the expansion; plan to buy the black edition from GOG but i would like to know about the behavior on a AMD X2 60b cpu under XP Pro 32bits; so far my initial painkiller doesnt behave very properly (though AMD drivers and a MS official KB hotfix reduced the problem, still there though)
is GOG version free of such problem or can i expect same as from regular boxed painkiller versions please ?
Not speaking from experience here, but I would guess that it will behave the same. The only real difference between the retail box version of the Black Edition and the GOG version is the installer.

I've got an AMD quad processor, i've had some problems with the GOG painkiller too, i fixed them by setting core affinity from the task manager to a single core
