The game crashes on exit every time... The on y workaround I found is to ALT+TAB and the force the game to close via task manager...

I have a pretty fucked up rig but the game is stable. Maybe tell us your specs (cpu, ram, gpu), OS, settings (resolution, effects, full-screen or windowed), something running in the background,.. just something. A sentence like "it crashes' could be just any Boeing 737 Max... You are not running this on a 737, right?

Perhaps I should downgrade to a "Pilatus PC-6"?
I guess this would make the game run.

I had the same issue. I just bought it today. I'm running it at high settings on FS I had crash on exit everytime. I went to borderless FS and so far it's better.
It started again. So it's a thing. I have 2 Ryzen rigs both with Nvidia cards one R7 1700 MSI 1660TI The other a R5 3600 with A MSI 2600 The same on both.
